Overview
Introduction
Technology Services provides a secure website solution for College of Engineering faculty personal and research lab websites. This service offers a faculty theme option, based on Marcomm’s Aggie UX framework, that allows faculty members to create WordPress websites hosted at WP Engine.

How to Request Service
Faculty members may request a website using the site request form.
Out of Scope
The following are not supported under this service.

Service Level Agreement
Users of the WordPress Hosting Service are subject to this Service Level Agreement, which outlines the responsibilities of both Technology Services and the customer.
Technology Services owns and maintains the service platform; the customer owns the content on their website.
Technology Services Responsibilities
Technology Services will be responsible for:
- Providing introductory information about getting started with the service
- Initial creation of the website using the WordPress template option with sample/starter content only
- Providing a hostname in the engr.tamu.edu domain
- Platform security and maintenance
- Managing required security and management plugins
Expected Response TIMES:
- Site creation requests: 2 business days
- Support inquiries: 2 business days
Customer Responsibilities
The customer will be responsible for:
Contact Information
- Providing Technology Services with names, phone numbers, and email addresses of critical contact personnel (e.g. site owner and backup contact)
Compliance
- Ensuring no FERPA, HIPAA, or other confidential information is contained within the site
- Ensuring all content meets:
- University web policies, including branding and web accessibility standards
- FERPA, HIPAA, and all other applicable federal and state laws
- University Rules and Ethics Policies

The following elements must remain on all sites:
- Site title (header)
- Texas A&M University logo with Department Name (site header and footer)
Site Maintenance
The customer is responsible for content maintenance, including:
- Content creation and updates
- Navigation structure
- RSS feeds
- User access management
Service Limitations

Technology Services Will Not Provide
- Building websites or creating content
- Site migrations (inbound or outbound)
- Support for debugging website issues
- Authorization, approval, or payment for non-“tamu.edu” domains
- Creation of subdomains
- Responsibility for copyright infringements caused by unauthorized use of copyrighted material
Exit Process
When a faculty member leaves the university, retires, transfers to another college, or no longer needs the service:
- Content migration is the responsibility of the customer
- Websites are subject to site retention policies
